Integra b18c1 engine swap? no comments
i wanna swap the b18a1 and tranny in my 91 integra for a b18c1 and tranny. will it fit?? if not what other engines will?
any other integra motor will drop right in. your gonna need the ecu from the motor of your choice. and you may need to convert to OBD0 to OBD1 or OBD2 depending
yeah it’ll fit right in but why would you wanna do that for? why not keep the b18a1 block and put on the b18c1 vtec head so that you can go LSvtec? more fun then just the ordinary b18c1. you get more torque from the ls and then if you add the head, man fun car to drive. good luck.
yes it will drop right…u have to use the vtec ecu.but it will fit.
1992 Acura Integra GS Sedan? no comments
I bought a 1992 Acura integra with 174000 miles and was wondering how long I should expect it to live and will I have to baby it any more than a newer car?
If it is automatic, I say give or take 250,000 miles. If it is manual, I am sure you have up to 300,000 miles or more. And yes, be aware for minor problems that will come up, but it should not be that many because it is a Honda! Have fun!
i just bought a 93 integra gs 4dr 5spd with 282k miles clean title for 1200. this car still runs like it only has 90k miles. its still strong and skirts second gear like nothing. they”re really good cars and when they go out, time to rebuild and it’ll be like brand new again. heres a link to the car i bought if you wanna check it out.

Where can I find performance upgrades for my 1999 Acura 3.0 CL? no comments
I don’t know much about performance upgrades & I just want my car to have a little more "oooomph".I’ve had it since 1999 & I’ve kept it in pristine condition & I think its time for it to get modified.Someone told me that I can use performance parts from a 1999 Honda Accord V6 but I’m not sure about buying any b/c that’s a different car!I’m not looking for any crazy Fast & Furious mods….just a couple things here & there that’ll give it more "go" on the road. Thanks for the help people!!!

HELP! How to shift gears smoothly when in high RPMS? Car jerks when I try (especially going into 2nd and 3rd)? no comments
Ok, im still kinda new to driving manual.I can drive "normally" (shifting through gears when in 2500-3000 RPMS smoothly), but when im wanting to drive fast and try shifting into second and third in high RPMS like 4-6000 it never engages smoothly–it always jerks when i try this.
There have been a few times when ive pulled it off successfuly but dotn know exactely how i did it.I heard that when in higher rpms i need to pop the clutch but ive tried that and maybe im doing it wrong but it still jerks.Or maybe i need to give it a lot of gas right before i totally let out the clutch???I dont know but im getting very frusterated because i drive an Integra GSR and i want to take total advantage of its power but everytime i try it jerks, and i know theres nothing wrong with the tranny.
SO please explain to me in detail how exactely i execute a shift when in high rpms so i can drive fast from a stop..Serious answers only please.Thanks.
When you’re attempting to drive "fast" you may be releasing the clutch all at once and pressing pretty fast on the gas, the car tends to jerk, since with the clutch pressed down, the car is in a neutral state (stepping on the gas only results in revving of the engine).Just like you did when learning to drive stick, it has got to be a smooth transition of release of clutch and depressing of the gas pedal.
For your question, to execute a shift in high RPMs, the problem when you’re revving higher RPMS and releasing the clutch all of a sudden, the RPMs are already high, so when the clutch catches, it jerks since you’re already giving the engine power.
1. If you’re set on keeping the RPMs high, just keep the gas partially depressed, however, the clutch still must be smoothly released, basically just not all at once, that’s usually the cause of the "jerky-ness" of the car, suddenly going from neutral state to a decent amount of gas being suddenly shunt as power to the wheels. the smooth release of the clutch allows for power to be transitioned smoothly instead of all at once.
2. If you’re new to driving stick, when you are so called "driving normally", get a feel for the car better by maybe attempting a smooth shift at 3k RPMs, then 3,500, then move it up so you get a better feel of how quickly you can shift with an elevated RPM count while still maintaining the "smoothness" that you desire.
Just let go of the gas, press the clutch pedal, shift into 3rd. I really dont know why you’re car is jerking around. Try getting a feel for when the clutch grabs. I think when you are releasing the clutch pedal too quickly and then flooring the gas pedal. Try going on the gas pedal a little smoother.
Ok, the answer is to slip the clutch. You are trying to do things too fast.Do not let the clutch out quickly. The clutch will grab too hard and jerk the car.Yes, this will slow you down a bit, but it will not jerk the car.Too many people associate driving faster with rough inputs to the car-i.e. the engine is revving quickly, therefore I need to use faster, more abrupt actions.Do not fall into this trap.Driving quickly is more about driving smoothly.Look up the procedure about double clutch shifting…it works but is difficult to do properly.Good Luck
How much does insurance cost for acura rsx? no comments
im gonna buy a used car soon and i was thinking of buying the rsx. I am 16 so i would join the insurance plan with my mom. I have good grades and my mom has a clean driving record. I just need a rough estimate
About $200 a month
the only way to know a good quote is to call them and get one. but i would assume maybe around 100-250.
Getting the right performance parts? no comments
I own a 94 Acura Vigor and i want to get the most performance i possibly can out of it. i know i can do things like fuel injectors and a high flowing cat back.but are there any other good ways to increase the performance of my car. if so can you tell me what they are and how to get a hold of the parts. thanks
if u want the most performance out of it stay away from ebay crap and chips header intake exhaust helps.just keep in mind any time u chang the amont of air or fuel going in your motor your not geting the most out of it unless u have it tuned.turboing is always a good idea.
put a better chip in it you can get one online at any performance site
Headers, racing cam, aluminum intake manifolds, eliminate the heater core to keep the engine cool so it don’t evaporate gas, racing rims they weigh 2 pounds or so
What happened to acura tl-s? no comments
I saw an acura TLS at a parking lot the other day and I LOVE IT. I went to acura’s site and I don’t see it anywhere. I just see the SH-AWD. What happened to the TLS? Did they stop making it and if so are they going to restart production ? Also what is the latest year the TLS was made and if I want to buy one what should I be searching for ? What is the proper name of it? Is it just acura tl type s?
It’s no longer made. The last year was 08.
If their history serves as any pattern for the future, they will begin making it again in 1-2 years. They also stopped in 2004 when they came out with the TL Gen3, and began again in about 2 years. Now that they are beginning Gen 4, you can hope for that in the future!
they don’t make that car anymore and it wont be in reproduction and unless you have about $20,000 laying around you cant get a tl-s. i believe 07 was the last year it was made.
The base Acura has about the same power as the old Type S.The new SH-AWD is now the upscale version of the TL.
They’ve replaced it with the ugliest car of the planet.
Unless you consider the Aztek a car.
It’s just the type S, the more souped up faster version of the TL
