China’s trade with emerging markets recorded strong growth in 2010 no comments
China’s trade with emerging markets recorded strong growth last year, according to figures released by the Ministry of Commerce.
China’s trade with member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) increased by 37.5 percent year on year in 2010.
Trade with Brazil increased by 47.5 percent, while trade with Russia did by 43.1 percent year on year.
Trade with South Africa increased by 59.5 percent, while trade with India grew by 42.4 percent compared with 2009.
China has become the largest trading partner and export destination for Japan, the Republic of Korea, ASEAN, Australia and South Africa, said the ministry.
Furthermore, China’s second largest trading partner and export destination of the European Union (EU).
China is also the second largest trading partner and third largest U.S. export destination.
The European Union, Japan and the United States remained the main trading partners of China in 2010.
China’s trade with the EU increased by 31.8 percent last year, while trade with the United States did at 29.2 percent and trade with Japan increased 30.2 percent year on year.
Exports and imports from China totaled 2.97 billion dollars in 2010, an increase of 34.7 percent compared with the previous year.
